Lois worked with my son for seven years. He began tutoring with Lois in Language Arts and Orton-Gillingham through a private tutoring service and later in a private school. Lois then became his primary Autism Scholarship provider – for all academics in 2013 and remained so until he aged out at 22. Tutoring, experiences through Blue Pony Education at Chukkar Hill Farm, weekly community outings and volunteering became his classroom; a wonderful way to incorporate life skills and academics in a real world setting. My son’s reading and comprehension improved greatly with Orton Gillingham! Community involvement, farm experiences and riding lessons were also available through private pay. This was a unique educational experience that worked extremely well for my son. Lois’ background as an Intervention Specialist and Orton Gillingham instructor, combined with the backdrop of the farm allowed for traditional and nontraditional learning, which provided for a great educational experience.

We met Lois as we were navigating the best way to help our child diagnosed with language based learning disabilities (dyslexia, dysgraphia, central auditory processing disorder). Lois worked around our school schedule meeting 3 times a week. Lois was an advocate for our child in the school. She participated in IEP meetings, communicating with the school from elementary grades through highschool. Our child is currently a freshman in college. The strategies, tools and disciplines Lois taught our child attribute greatly to our child’s academic success.
