Blue Pony strives to teach and reach all types of children and young adults through a variety of modalities or paths to learning. For many this is one on one or small group tutoring in academics, executive functioning, organization, time management or study skills. These are school centered skills that often apply to typical students who need subject specific tutoring and those with learning differences. This could include learning or behavior disabilities, ADHD and those on the Autism spectrum. Each student is individually evaluated, and a support plan is formulated.
For others, hands on experiences in the outdoors, with animals, volunteering or work experiences are appropriate and effective ways to learn. The mind- body connection is part of our philosophy to manage and achieve goals. Blue Pony acknowledges that education goes far beyond the classroom and there are alternative experiences that reach students to complement more traditional methods. In essence, Blue Pony strives to find the strengths in each student it serves and give them an opportunity to develop them, while supporting and bridging learning differences and goals.
Finally, Blue Pony recognizes that parents or caregivers can face challenges and frustration raising children, especially those with special needs, and look for support through educational, behavioral and transitional intervention practices. Supporting parents, through positive coaching and consulting is offered as part of working with the total child or family to improve harmony and communication at school, home and in their community. Our focus, through teamwork with students and parents, is to help prepare students for each stage of life; educationally, socially and personally.
